Acne rosacea

What is rosacea?

Rosacea is a long-term inflammatory skin condition characterised by flare-ups and remissions, mostly affecting the central part of the face.

The clinical image varies depending on the stage, but it is characterised by intense redness on the face, small dilated blood vessels, pimples, even rhinophyma (enlargement of the nose) or eye conditions such as blepharitis and conjunctivitis.

The skin of an individual with rosacea is sensitive and intolerant.

Rosacea most often appears in women after menopause, but may also appear in younger ages and in men.

Aggravating factors are heredity, digestive system disorders, parasites such as Demodex, anxiety, stress, lifestyle (spicy foods, spices, smoking, red wine, sauna, hammam).

Treatment varies depending on the stage, and can be topical using IPL phototherapy, pHformula CR peel, cosmetic care for chronic redness (sensitive skin treatment) and anti-inflammatory medication or regular treatment with antibiotics or retinoids.
